Services
We mention in the limitations that all stock will be converted as services. If you’re happy with this, please review the services and amend the nomial account code as necessary.
If you require stock / inventory instead of services you could try exporting the list to Excel:
If you then select all the services you no longer want you can mark them as inactive using “Batch action” menu:
Amend the .xls spreadsheet to remove the service items you wish to retain and amend the lines relating to the inactive services so the “Type” column says “Inventory”. Save the changes.
Click the arrow next to the “New” button and select the “Import” option:
If you’re unsure what to enter in each field, QuickBooks Online will provide an option to download a sample file on the page that follows. Alternatively click the “Browse” button to navigate to the saved .xls spreadsheet previously saved and select it.
Click “Next” in the bottom right of the page.
The following screen enables you to map the fields from the spreadsheet to the QuickBooks Online fields. This should already be done as the template was exported directly from QuickBooks Online.
Complete the steps to import the items you wish to include as stock / inventory.
