Post-conversion – Sage
Post-conversion
We try to make your conversion as comprehensive as possible, aiming to save you as much time as we can. However, there are some things that we are not able to do because of limitations in the software process we use to enter data directly into the Sage accounting system.
This means that there will be some post-conversion tasks that you will need to perform and this document is provides an overview of these tasks. The post-conversion tasks should be done as soon as possible after the conversion. If you encounter problems or think something might not be right, please refer to our troubleshooting page.
We recommend all customers complete any tasks below that are relevant to them. This will give them the best starting position for their newly converted data.
- Clean up VAT/tax
We do not convert your tax number and return periods, so we recommend setting these up. - File VAT/tax
Submit the most recently filed return. Sage can then determine late claims. - Tidy foreign currency
Foreign currency transactions will be converted as home currency. Foreign currency bank accounts and unpaid foreign currency invoices may need to created to replace those we’ve converted to home currency. - Miscellaneous changes
We recommend changing the name, address and chart of accounts information to that of your business. - FreeAgent Corporation Tax Calculations
If converting from FreeAgent, automatically generated corporation tax journals won’t have been converted. These steps show how to manually includ them.
